Day 23: Spring into a Clean Punch List – Tackle the Tasks You recorded During our Journey
Welcome to Day 23 – the last day - of Spring into Clean with Staged for Living! Today we are going to revisit your Punch list. You have been (hopefully) jotting down tasks on Worksheet 3: Your Spring Clean Punch List that you need to do. Today, we are going to start those tasks. By the end of today, you will have made a small dent in your punch list.
Handy Tools:
The Ultimate Spring Clean Toolkit PDF
Clipboard with Worksheets 1-4
Anything needed for your punch list
Simple Steps:
Look at your punch list and group together like tasks.
Decide on an order and timeline for finishing the list.
Decide what task you would like to start today. For example, if you have “touch up trim paint” written for several rooms, go to the paint store, buy a small amount of trim paint and some cheap brushes, and get started!
Continue with the next group of tasks until all are completed.
Staged for Living Pro Tips:
Organize Your List – Group related items together. For instance, if you have a lot of pictures to hang, hang them in one session.
Set goals for each group of tasks – I like to set goals by months. Maybe your list is short, so your goal is to finish it in one month. Or maybe it’s super long and reasonably it will take the rest of the year. Be realistic.
Break the tasks into manageable parts – Maybe one day you go buy the paint supplies and the next day you paint. Maybe you just make that phone call looking for recommendations for carpet replacement.
Give yourself as much time as you need – It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Unless you want to sprint. Then go for it!
Enlist help from family and friends – Does your teen need extra chores? Does your husband have a different skill set than you? Does your bestie want to spend time with you, and she doesn’t care how you spend it? Enlist their help!
Hire people to perform some of the items on the list – Hire the teen boy down the street to fix that piece of furniture or add boxes to the attic. Hire an electrician to fix that switch that isn’t working. We all have different skills! And time is money.
By the end of today, your punch list should be fairly organized, and you should have a basic timeline in mind.
Thank you so much for participating in Spring into Clean with Staged for Living! It has been such a productive month, and I hope it blessed you and your family as much as it did mine! See you next year!

Spring into a Clean Kitchen – A Fresh Start for the Heart of Your Home!
Days 15-16: Spring into a Clean Kitchen – A Fresh Start for the Heart of Your Home!
Welcome to Days 15 and 16 of Spring into Clean with Staged for Living!
The kitchen is the heart of the home, and today, we’re giving it the deep clean and refresh it deserves. Ready to tackle the dust, wipe down surfaces, and create a kitchen that feels as fresh as your favorite spring recipe? Let’s dive into a two-day (it’s a doozy!) spring clean in your kitchen and make it a spotless, welcoming space for all your culinary creations!
Handy Tools:
Dish soap
Sink cleaner
Scrub brush
Oven cleaner
Simple Steps:
Straighten up the area, moving misplaced items to their designated spaces. Keep only what is useful or beautiful in the kitchen.
Follow the order in the laminated Worksheet 2: Step-by-Step Spring Clean Blueprint
Mark off tasks (with a dry-erase marker) that do not apply to this room.
Mark off each task as you finish it.
Clean the exhaust fan cover. Yuck!
Vacuum above the cabinets if they don’t go to the ceiling.
Clean pantry shelves starting at the top. Straighten as you go.
Clean the shelves in the cabinets. Line them with shelf liner if desired.
Clean the outside of the cabinets.
Clean backsplash.
Clean the top, inside, and outside of your refrigerator and freezer. Throw away expired food.
Empty the recycle bin and wash it.
Clean the stove and oven.
Run a phantom load in the dishwasher to clean it. Clean filter.
Scrub sink and counters.
Put out fresh towels.
Throw dirties in the hamper.
Put related items together so you can find things easily.
When you finish cleaning the kitchen, erase all marks with a dry paper towel to get ready for the next space.
Staged for Living Pro Tips:
Split this clean into at least two days - It’s a lot.
Consider using linen napkins – And wash them. This cuts down on paper use.
Consider moving paper towels under the sink – Use dish cloths instead. This also cuts down on paper use and expense.
Wipe down counters, run dishes, sweep, and reset kitchen daily – This is my favorite daily routine because it makes such a difference in how the house runs and looks!
Put used sponges in dishwasher – I don’t love sponges because of the germs they carry, but if your use them, refresh them in the dishwasher with each load.
Remember to run your exhaust fan while cooking - Your house will thank you.
By the end of these two (or so) days, your kitchen will be sparkling clean and organized, making it a more inviting and efficient space for cooking and gathering. With everything in its place and surfaces gleaming, you’ll be ready to enjoy a fresh, functional kitchen for the season ahead!

Spring into a Clean Mudroom – A Fresh Start for Your Drop Zone!
Day 4: Spring into a Clean Mudroom – A Fresh Start for Your Drop Zone!
Your mudroom is where the mess usually starts, but today we’re transforming it into a neat, clean space! Ready to make this hardworking area fresh and functional for the season ahead? Let’s dive into spring cleaning your mudroom!
Handy Tools:
Simple Steps:
Straighten up the area, moving items to their designated spaces. Keep only what is useful or beautiful in the room.
Follow the order in the laminated Worksheet 2: Step-by-Step Spring Clean Blueprint
Mark off tasks (with a dry-erase marker) that do not apply to this room.
Mark off each task as you finish it.
When finished cleaning the mudroom, erase all marks with a dry paper towel to get ready for the next space.
If this is where you store your pet food bowls, give them a good scrubbing. Scrub the floor under them, as well.
Pack up your toolkit for tomorrow.
Staged for Living Pro Tips:
Keep the mudroom minimal – You want your guests and family to move easily through the mudroom. Don’t over furnish or over decorate.
Use a basket for shoe storage – Contain those shoes! People often walk in the house through the mudroom. The whole purpose of this room is to keep the mud/dirt/germs IN it. Encourage family to leave shoes in the basket.
Add a small bench - Sitting helps people put on and take off shoes.
Add hidden storage – Hide those winter coats and hats. Too much visual clutter can make a space seem dirty and stressful.
Use a patterned rug – Catch the dirt before it enters the rest of your house. A patterned rug will stay nice looking longer than a solid one.
By the end of today’s mudroom clean, you’ll have a clutter-free, fresh space that keeps the mud where it belongs. With just a few simple adjustments, your mudroom will be functional, fresh, and ready for all the busy days ahead!
Looking forward to springing into cleaning with you tomorrow!

Spring into a Clean Laundry Room – A Fresh Start for Your Laundry Space!
Day 5: Spring into a Clean Laundry Room – A Fresh Start for Your Laundry Space!
Welcome back, friends! It’s so good to see you here again.
Your laundry room might be one of the hardest-working areas in your home, and today, we’re turning it into a tidy, clean space that makes laundry day feel like a spring breeze! Ready to tackle the dirt and create a functional space for the season ahead? Let’s get started on spring cleaning your laundry room!
Handy Tools:
Laundry soap or vinegar
Outside supplies
Simple Steps:
Straighten up the area, moving clean and dirty clothes to their designated spaces.
Keep only what is useful or beautiful in the room.
Follow the order in the laminated Worksheet 2: Step-by-Step Spring Clean Blueprint.
Mark off tasks (with a dry-erase marker) that do not apply to this room.
Mark off each task as you finish it.
Clean out dryer lint.
Clean the top of the washer and dryer.
Do a phantom load of laundry to clean your washing machine.
Clean your hamper. (I like to take them outside to the hose and use dish soap and a rag.)
Wash laundry baskets. (I like to take them outside to the hose and use dish soap and a rag.)
Clean the vacuum filter.
When finished cleaning the room, erase all marks with a dry paper towel to get ready for the next space.
Pack up your toolkit for tomorrow.
Staged for Living Pro Tips:
Keep the laundry room minimal – The fewer items in there, the more room you have!
Add curtains if you don’t have cabinets – I don’t have upper cabinets, so I used a curtain rod and made curtains to hide all the stored stuff such as extra laundry soap and vacuum parts. It looks so much better.
Stackable laundry baskets are awesome – My laundry room is small, so the stackable Container Store laundry baskets save my life! I have one for each family member.
Hang as many tools as possible – Get those tools (brooms, stick vacs, ironing board) off the floor! The floor is so much easier to clean when items are elevated.
Have a small trash can in the laundry room – for dryer lint. Life. Saved. I promise.
By the end of today’s laundry room clean, you’ll have a space that feels neat, inviting, and ready for the season ahead. With these simple steps, your laundry room will feel fresh for everyone who uses it!
See you tomorrow for more spring-cleaning fun.

Follow the order in the laminated Worksheet 2: Step-by-Step Spring Clean Blueprint
Mark off tasks (with a dry-erase marker) that do not apply to this room.
Mark off each task as you finish it.
When you finish cleaning the closet, erase all marks with a dry paper towel to get ready for the next space.
Staged for Living Pro Tips:
Place each set of sheets inside one of its pillowcases – This keeps all pieces together and prevents family members from searching tirelessly for the right pieces when they make their beds.
Label shelves with sheet and blanket sizes - For easy identification.
Buy matching towel set – So they don’t get all mixed up.
Hang a hook or two inside the door – this is handy to hang items such as tablecloths, runners, or whatever you need. It adds a little extra space.
By the end of today’s linen closet clean, you’ll have a space that’s tidy, clean, and ready to keep all your linens in order. With a few simple adjustments, your linen closet will stay neat and easy to navigate, making it a breeze to grab what you need!
Wonderful job today, friends! See you tomorrow for more spring cleaning!
